WAVC Luncheon:
Jennifer Siebel Newsom Filmmaker, CEO, Advocate, and Thought Leader (2/7/18)

Jennifer Siebel Newsom is an award-winning filmmaker, CEO, advocate, and thought leader. After graduating with honors from Stanford University and Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, she wrote, directed, and produced the 2011 award-winning documentary Miss Representation. Her second film, The Mask You Live In, had its world premiere at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and explores how America’s narrow definition of masculinity is harming boys, men, and society at large. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, who is running for Governor of California in 2018.

Jennifer will join us to discuss the recent spotlight around issues of gender equality and workplace culture. Likely, you've been wondering what you can personally do to address these issues in your own portfolio companies. The goal of this conversation is to spark a dialogue within the VC community on how you can use your personal power to influence founders and shape corporate culture from the start.
